Head Coach
Mark Shirley
Coach Shirley has returned to LSA and has started his second year as Head Coach of Lutheran South
softball. In 2001 – 2002, Coach Shirley led LSA to a combined record of 30-9 and the first playoff birth in over a decade.
Before rejoining LSA, Coach Shirley was the Head coach at both Mount Mercy College and Cedar Rapids Washington High School.
In addition, Coach Shirley also coaches soccer at LSA. Coach Shirley helps the Coaching staff of the Texas Mystixx 18U Gold
softball organization. He has played two years of Men's Division A Fast Pitch as a Third basemen, a Pitcher and a Center Fielder.
Coach Shirley's Combined Career Record for High School Softball is 68 – 29.

Archie Buchmann
Coach Buchman, in his fourth year as Asst. Coach Buchman is a native Houstonian. He received his Master's
Degree from University of Houston and has been serving Houston with his teaching for the last 39 years. Coach Buchman enjoyed
a long playing career in Men's Fast Pitch from 1969 - 84. Over the years, Coach Buchman has worn many hats within the Lutheran
Education Organization. Besides being an Asst. Basketball coach, Coach Buchman headed up the Jr High Baseball program from
1974 - 2004. In the 2004 season he coached LSA Jr. High Baseball to the City Championship. The following year Coach Buchman
changed over to coaching softball and has been the Asst. Softball Coach ever since.

Team Manager
Lindsay Fluker
Lindsay Fluker a Senior serving her first year as team Manager. Lindsay was a Varisty Softball
letter winner last year as well as being named Academic All-American. Lindsay was unable to play this year due to injury
but chose to remain on the team and help out where she could. Lindsay serves a vital role on our team as she records the
offical stat book for home games as well as looking after the finer details of game day prep.
